Last week I had to make a book review on a book that I have read I done it on my favorite book and here it is.

Why men and women should be paid equally

This week my class and I have been presenting our speeches, and here is mine.

Men shouldn’t get paid more than women
Have you taken any notice of how men are paid more than women even if they do the same job, Now tell me do you stand for that, or do you respect the women’s rights.

The problem is that most men think that they are more important than a woman and that they should be paid more. Well, I think that `that is not true and women have just as many rights. Take a look at the Black Ferns they used to get paid nothing and had to work to create a living while the All Blacks got paid heaps, the black ferns get paid now but not enough so they have to work still.

Many women in New Zealand work in jobs that are 80% populated by females and they tend to get paid less than jobs that are more dominated by men. In New Zealand, if a woman was to do a job the exact same as a man the same hours and the same efficiency and she got paid $1,198 the man would get $1,310.612. That’s because the gender pay gap is at a crazy 9.4% difference. Did you know that men earn at least $3000 more than woman every quarter, that’s $12,000 more than women every year?

In New Zealand, the gender pay gap coexists with an ethnic one. In 2012, the HRC found that while the between the median hourly wage of a European male and a European female was 12.4%. Between a European male and a Pacific female, it was 24.4%. Now think about it if you were a woman in that position would you be happy?
